BINGO!

Bingo... America's favorite past-time. I adore everything about Bingo. Dobbers, gambling, winning.. well that's about it. Last night the gang (you know Danny, Sandy, Rizzo, Putsy..the gang), all went to the Jungle to play a very special Bingo, hosted by everyone's favorite Drag Queen....Bubba Dee-licious. It was sports night so I was wearing my favorite Pen's T-Shirt.. (circa 5th grade).

~Me and Jenny.. Pen's fans for life~

After losing most of the night I finally hit a Bingo. The winnings would have been $100 dollars, but 2 other people hit too. So I took home $33.334544536 dollars. Not too shabby.

Amanda vs. Food

Tonight my friends and I drove up to Kennesaw to eat at the famous Big Pie in the Sky. A pizzeria that has been made famous by their epic 30" pie. Once featured on an episode of Man v. Food, the challenge being able to eat in a 2 hour sitting this XL pizza covered in 3 lbs of meat. The Carnivore Challenge.

While I didn't attempt to eat this whole pizza, I barely managed to eat one whole slice. The pizza was delicious! The wait was long, and tables are hard to come by. But it was well worth it.

Put me in Coach!

Coach! I L.O.V.E. Coach Handbags, purses, clutches, wallets, shoes..and everything else on the spectrum of Coach. For me, carrying a Coach purse makes me feel expensive, and (for lack of a better word) cool. When I turned 21 my friend Lisa gave me a shimmery pink Coach clutch! That year I'm pretty sure my closet only consisted of pink blouses so that I could accessorize with it. Last year on my 25th birthday I asked for money from my parents so that I could buy myself an outrageously expensive (in my opinion) gold Coach bag. Oh how I love it. And tonight I sit here at my computer gazing at the Coach Online Catalog, and wishing I made enough money to buy every single purse on this site. Alas.. here are some lovely bags and a sexy pair of heels.

~lovin' these heels~

~Black & White~

~pink leather....YUM~

So friends...one day I will have the means to indulge in my purse fetish, but until then its all online for me.

Change of A dress

I don't wear dresses often, but I want too. The problem is I never have anywhere to wear them and I always feel like I don't look right in them. Tonight I was looking at one of my favorite online stores, ModCloth, and there are sooo many dresses I want. (if anyone want to donate to the dress amanda fund, let me know:)lol) Not only are the dresses cute, but the descriptions that modcloth gives sets the scene for where you want to wear it. Seriously I almost bought a cute one just because they called it the An officer and a gentlewoman dress.

So without any further adieu I will present my top dressy pics..

~I love this one because it looks kinda 80's and its called , Moved to Tiers Dress~

~GAHHHH!! I love this one, although not sure I could pull off the one shoulder~

~This one is called Paris at Dusk, I mean couldn't you just imagine walking along the Seine in this!~

~Or this little Betsey Johnson Party like its your Birthday Dress~

Perhaps one day I will have somewhere to wear one of these fabulous dresses to.

Fluffly Clouds of Words

A friend of mine showed we this site wordle.net
where you can input text to form lovely little word clouds. I was immediately fascinated with this.. ohh the possibilities. You could make really cute ones for weddings, or scrap-booking, or even just for sheer art. After fiddling around with the site for a few hours I decided to plug in the words of all the things I love. The things that make me smile. And so.. Behold... My Wordle.

A New Moon & A Christmas Tree

I love days like today..

Today I woke up relaxed and excited. Up at 8:30 I was ready to start my day. I started out doing a little Christmas shopping before meeting Brittany and Lauren for Lunch at Tin Lizzy's followed by ... NEW MOON! I had been anxiously awaiting this movie to come out all year and today I finally saw it.

~Tin Lizzy's..Ohh how I love thee soft tacos~

~The moment we've been waiting for~

~I love the New Moon Cups~

As you can probably tell by now I am a huge 'TwiHard' (thats the name for twilight fans). How was New Moon you may ask? It was great. For me it was 10x better than the first movie and it followed the book much more closely. Edwards skin glittered as I imagined it would and although I think Edward Cullen is absolutely fabulous, Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black was equally delicious. So which team would I choose?? Since I can't choose between the two.. I'll just take Bella's dad Charlie. I love me some Billy Burke. This movie left me feeling satisfied, and I look forward to seeing Eclipse in May.

After the movie Brittany came back to my house to partake in our tradition of decorating my Christmas tree. I told her today that when we are 60 years old and I have my own family I'm still going to call her to come over and help me trim my tree. I remember when I was little putting up the Christmas tree in my house meant that the holiday was finally close. We would all hide in the other room while my parents put the lights on the tree (something always seemed to go wrong during this part)... but then we would all line up in front of my Dad as he handed us each ornaments to adorn the tree with. My Dad would put his favorite icicles on the tree followed by candy canes and tinsel. As soon as all the ornaments where on we would all stand back and enjoy the beautifully decorated tree.
~Me and My Christmas Tree~

~hanging the ornaments~

~Traditional ode to Twilight photo~

~Brittany puts the star on the top~

On my Christmas tree I went with a gold and red motif... all except for one special ornament. You've heard the legend of the Christmas Pickle.
LEGEND OF THE CHRISTMAS PICKLE
A pickle is used as decoration on the Christmas tree seems odd at first, but it is an old German tradition. When decorating the Christmas tree, it is traditional to hang the pickle last, hidden among the branches. The first child on Christmas Day to find the Christmas pickle receives a special blessing for the year and an extra gift! Great tradition to share with your family this year and for years to come!
Well as much as I love pickles I decided to go with something I love even more. So you may ask,"what do I hide deep among the branches of my tree?" Well folks... Sidney Crosby.. and what's in store for the person who finds him ..well if I had my way it would be a lifetime of waking up to find him sleeping in the bed with me. But alas..we will just say that the person who finds him gets a year of luck and happiness.

~My Very Own Sidney Crosby~

And now.. fa la la la la.. and VOILA! My Tree is up and I say " Let the festivus begin"!

The Great Pumpkin

Yesterday my friend Lauren and I had some fun girl time as we went on our hunt for pumpkins. This week us and some of our friends are going to carve pumpkins so we were in need of a 'great' pumpkin. We went to the patch by my house which was a little small, but we managed to take some fun pictures before realizing that they only accepted cash. From there we headed to this really cute little shop on "love street" that sells all kinds of little knick-knacks for the house. From there we went to Publix where we got HUGE pumpkins for $5.99 (seriously folks you can't beat that). One half that size at the patch was $13 dollars. After our pumpkins were secure in Lauren's back seat we went to Scalinis for a lovely meal of salad, garlic rolls, pasta and spumoni. YUMMMMMMMM!!! After gorging ourselves on the endless rolls we came back to my house for a little chick flick movie night... on the agenda...The Proposal ,which had Lauren laughing so hard I'm sure my neighbors heard her...lol! A busy and fun filled day!

Have you gotten your pumpkin yet? Stay tuned folks.. cause we are carving them on Tuesday! Happy Fall Ya'll!!

GLEE!!!!!!!!!!

This fall a new series premiered, Glee! I would describe this show as absolutely delightful! What more could a girl ask for than a show about a Glee club. I mean it has all the key components I look for in a television show. Drama, dancing, romance and SINGING!!!! Here is a clip from this week where Puck (such a cutie) sings one of my all time favorite Neil Diamond songs. Sweet Caroline. Enjoy!

Are you as hooked as I am??

Everybody needs a theme song!

On the show Ally McBeal (one of my personal favorites), Ally is told by her therapist that she needs to find her own theme song. A song that she can play in her head whenever times are though, or she's stressed or in her specific case when she sees a dancing baby. Ally chooses the song Tell Him by the exciters. As for me my theme is the Mary Tyler Moore theme. The lyrics are just so great and hopeful!

Who can turn the world on with her smile?
Who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?
Well it's you girl, and you should know it
With each glance and every little movement you show it

Love is all around, no need to fake it.
You can have the town, why don't you take it.
You're gonna make it after all

How will you make it on your own?
This world is awfully big
And girl this time your all alone
But it's time you started living
It's time you let someone else do some giving

Love is all around, no need to fake it.
You can have the town, why don't you take it.
You're gonna make it after all,
You're gonna make it after all.

So that's the song that's always playing in my head when I'm down.

I wish life was like an episode of Ally McBeal. A place where everyone has a theme song and the night is ended at a bar listening to Robert Downey Jr. and James Marsden singing Karaoke.

Here are some of my favorite Ally Mcbeal moments.. enjoy.

What is your theme??

Rainy Monday

"its raining cats and dogs outside...oops I stepped in a poodle" - Uncle Bob

Today was a great day..it was in a word... LOVELY!! I woke up this morning to the soothing sound of a thunderstorm. It was one of those rainy days where its dark, and the rain is pounding down really heavily. Apparently a lot of Georgians weren't enjoying it as much as I was. Schools were canceled, mudslides, flooding and horrible traffic. Luckily I missed it. I worked a half of a day. I went in at 7am, left at noon and went to Kroger. I was actually going to drive out to Snellville for dinner but since the roads were so bad my Dad told me to stay home. So I did, but first I was craving my Dad's Jambalaya and since I wasn't going home I was going to have to make it myself. I bought all the ingredients, came home and did my prep and soon the aroma of my delicious meal filled the condo. I was so nervous that it would turn out horrible but it was delicious (and I don't have to worry about Sean picking all the smoked sausage out), now I have plenty for my dinner tomorrow too.

The rest of my day was spent lounging around, catching up on soap operas and sleep. The perfect do-nothing day.

A girls rights to shoes

"The fact is, sometimes it's really hard to walk in a single woman's shoes. That's why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun. " -sex and the city

If I had a million dollars I would own every pair of fabulous shoes I could find. I love shoes, granted flip flops, sandals and boots are what I normally wear, but I would love to own all those amazing shoes the world has to offer. I love my feet, I wear a 6 1/2, and I love that I can go into shoe stores and try on the display shoes with out having to get a sales woman to get me the shoes from the back. Unlike other clothes, shoes always fit and always look good.

This evening I went to the mall to buy a wedding shower gift for my friend, and I couldn't resist the shoe department in Macy's. What is too much to spend on a pair of boots? Oh how I wish I had that million dollars, or that my Dad (wink) would send me money for a new pair of awesome boots (perhaps as a daylight savings time gift.. I think we should all start celebrating this forgotten holiday).

Do you remember that episode of Sex and the City : a woman's right to shoes. You know, the one where Carrie goes to a baby shower and is asked to remove her shoes as to not track any germs and dirt all over her friends house. Then when Carrie goes to leave she finds her shoes have mysteriously disappeared. When Carrie asks for compensation for her shoes the host of the party says that $485 dollars is too much to spend on shoes and only offers her $200. I'm appalled just thinking about it. After watching that episode I now feel like I should spend whatever it takes to make me feel good.

Now lets get shopping!

where did the time go...

Oh I feel like I haven't had a moment to my self in weeks ... hence the shortage of blogs. I think I need to take a mental health day. Work is picking up and this week it is and endless supply of VIP desserts and decorated cookies. But Friday I am off and I am excited.

So what has been going on lately with me .. Fall TV. Thank goodness for DVRs. Football season has started, the Vampire Diaries pilot was excellent and tonight its all about Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill. Plus we have 90210 and I do believe Grey's Anatomy is coming at the end of the month. YAY for Television!

What shows are you excited to watch? Are there any shows I'm missing out on?

A Labor of Love

Today was labor day and we celebrated Missy's birthday. It was a lovely day filled with presents, Beckham and a delicious low country shrimp boil made by my big brother Scott,"the richest man in town". What a beautiful labor day, I had the top off my Jeep all weekend, ate fantastic food and was surrounded by friends and family.

Happy Birthday Mis! xoxo

Do your worst!

Have you seen the Count of Monte Cristo?

I love love love this movie. Here is one of my favorite quotes from it.

"Life is a storm, my young friend. You will bask in the sunlight one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes. You must look into that storm and shout as you did in Rome. Do your worst, for I will do mine! Then the fates will know you as we know you: as Albert Mondego, the man! - the count of Monte Cristo

Shopping & Snellville

"Everybody's somebody in Snellville" -unknown

Every time I go to see my parents in Snellville I pass by two landmarks that insure me that I am 15 minutes from home. The first is the entry sign to Snellville with a sign that reads "Welcome to Snellville, Where everybody is Somebody". The second is the State Farm Insurance Sign that every week has a new quote on it. Today it was "A smile precedes happiness." To whom ever changes this sign weekly I thank you, its nice to read something different every time I come home.

So today when I got to the parents house, I had time for a quick hello before my mom, Brandon and I went to the mall. I think I overdid it a little. In an effort to get birthday gifts, wedding shower gifts and baby shower gifts...I instead bought a necklace, a Christmas ornament, earrings and a game. All I am sad to say .. for ME!

It was as is always a lovely day in Snellville. Snellville in my opinion will always be the "Stars Hollow" of Georgia. (If you've never watched Gilmore Girls that you wont know what I'm talking about).

So now I'm home to a clean house and ready for Sunday!

Fall is in the Air

"Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies."- You've Got Mail

Fall...Oh how I love thee. I walked outside this afternoon and something was different, the air I was breathing in wasn't hot and humid, it was cool and crisp. Perfect weather for taking the top off my car. It was a lovely 78 degrees outside.

I should probably bite my tongue for saying this but I am ready for summer to be over. I'm ready for all the great things that come along with fall. The trees will change colors and fall fashion will ensue. Today I went to the mall to check out what the stores have to offer for this season. So tell me ...I found these cute BCBG Cowboy boots at Macy's .. Yay or Nay. I think they are so cute but what would I wear them with. Maybe a ruffled flannel shirt? I could take the western chic route.

What are you wearing this fall? What trends should I be involved in? In other news have you checked out the accessories at urban outfitters lately. I swear if I could own everything in this store I would, but I especially love their earrings and necklaces. Since birds are the new black this season check out these adorable bird stud earrings. As soon as I can make my way to Lenox mall these bad boys are going to be mine.

Well until next time, Happy Fall Shopping.
