Savannah

"The sheer number of distinguished buildings is astonishing for a city of Savannah's size." -- John Berendt, Author of Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil.

“Savannah would be better for you. You just get in trouble in Atlanta.”
Mammy, in Gone With the Wind

This past week I went to Savannah, Ga to help open Avia hotel. My mom came with me so that we could hang out after work. The first day I arrived and saw the hotel, we went and got some drinks at Wet Willies on River Street and then headed to Vinni Van Gogos in city market for some delicious pizza before I went to work for the evening. My first night of work was great! The staff was extremely nice and welcoming and I taught them how to make the desserts for the menu.
The next day I went back down to the kitchen to finish the desserts up and set up a la carte for a dinner they were having for the executives of the hotel. Everything seemed to go well and I was dismissed to enjoy the rest of my stay at the hotel as a guest. So I went and changed and my mom and I headed to Beauforts for a fantastic meal, I had the shrimp and grits. Then we walked all over and went in and out of the little shops before returning to our rooms.
Then on Friday we decided to take the trolley tour around the city to see all the squares. It was a lot of fun and very interesting. We walked all over, getting off at each of the stops and walked around, did a lot of shopping and just had a lovely time. The tour is excellent. They tell you all the history, and its nice to see all the charming little houses. Later that evening we walked over to Paula Deen's restaurant Lady and Sons. Despite all the controversial opinions I had heard about the restaurant I was pleased with my meal. I feasted on the "Shore is good seafood dip and the Crap stuffed shrimp" and it was very enjoyable.
All in all a lovely weekend spent in Savannah.

Roxy

Bye Bye Betsy...Bonjour Roxy!
For all those who don't already know I like to name my vehicles. Well last Saturday night after much research I purchased a new car. A "red rock crystal pearl" Jeep Wrangler (that was the actual name of the color). I have always wanted a Jeep since I first saw the movie clueless and was instantly jealous of Cher's white "practice" jeep. They always looked so fun so this time when I bought my car I bought what I wanted. Not what was reasonable, or practical, or safe. I bought exactly what I wanted and I couldn't be happier with my decision. So if was so long to my old Hyundai Elantra Besty and Hello to my new Jeep Roxy. Its my belief that every car should have a name. So whats your cars name?

Sidney Crosby makes a great gift!

If you are looking for the perfect gift for someone special. This is it. Sidney Crosby: on the ice and beyond is the best DVD this holiday season. I just finished watching it and was truly mesmerized. This dvd shows the life of Sid on and off the ice .. hence the title. It shows the day he got drafted, his personal successes and his dramatic run to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Sidney Crosby is the Pittsburgh Penguins. Buy this dvd and you won't be disappointed.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Well 2008 has come and gone, faster than I could have imagined. What has happened this year? I have maintained friendships with a great group of friends, I have an unbelievable loving family, and I have watched my nephew Beckham grow and take his first steps. I still work at the same restaurant which I love most days. I haven't been evicted from my Condo so I fell pretty damn good about that. So I guess my big success for 2008 would have to be that I was able to support myself living on my own. What will 2009 hold for me? Whatever it is I hope that it is something AMAZINGLY FANTASTIC! My new years resolution is just to do things that make me happy and maybe things I wouldn't normally do, take more risks.

So to ring in the New Year I spent it at Eric and Chris' house. We drank some lovely punch, I'm sorry VERY lovely punch. Counted down with Dick Clark, played LCR, and just had a good time.

I Hope that all of you have a great 2009! xoxo

Christmas part deux!

To celebrate Christmas this year we all congregated at my casa! We enjoyed massive amounts of presents and pizza. Christmas was good to us all. I got so many nice things, movies (Interview with the Vampire and a Sid Crosby dvd--AWESOME), candles, bath products, a cornucopia of things i love which included Simply Sleep(it was really funny), A beautiful painting that Eric painted for me (I was deeply touched and I hung it in my hallway), lots of scrap booking stuff, lots of books, lots of Jewish books, A really cute sleep mask, and a record player. It was AWESOME! I hope everyone had a Happy Christmas. So here are a few pictures of my Atlanta Family! Thanks for all the good times.
